Here is what we know about what caused the massive fire at Ocean Lakes campground

There is no evidence of arson causing a massive fire at a campground outside of Myrtle Beach, but the exact cause is still up in the air.

Horry County Fire Rescue spokesman Tony Casey said Monday that the cause of the fire at Ocean Lake Campgrounds remains undetermined.

Around 5 a.m. July 31, a large fire broke out at the popular campground located off U.S. 17 between Myrtle Beach and Surfside Beach. Crews were on scene for hours trying to extinguish the blaze that lit the early morning sky.

Ten units were damaged by the fire, at least four had significant damage. Six vehicles and another six golf cars were damaged, Casey said.

There were 45 people displaced because of the fire, Casey said.
