89-year-old killed in Forestbrook area crash, Horry County coroner says
An 89-year-old man died in a wreck in the Forestbrook area on Thursday.
The Horry County Coroner Office identified the victim as James A. King, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper Brian Lee said the wreck happened on Burcale Road around 8 a.m. A driver of a 2002 BMW crossed the center line and hit a 2011 Cadillac.
King drove the Cadillac and died.
The BMW driver went to the hospital, Lee said.
Both drivers wore seatbelts, Lee said. The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the fatal collision.
