North Myrtle Beach House of Blues sets reopening date, announces rescheduled concerts

The House of Blues is set to reopen and a couple of the shows canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic have been rescheduled.

The North Myrtle Beach restaurant, bar and music venue announced Thursday on Facebook that it would be reopening Monday. The announcement comes nearly exactly a month since it temporarily closed on June 28.

“We are so excited to welcome you back Monday, July 27th to House of Blues Restaurant and Bar!” Thursday’s Facebook post reads.

With concert venues still on the list of businesses S.C. Gov. Henry McMaster has barred from reopening out of concern of the spread of COVID-19, the venue had been operating primarily as a bar and restaurant before the temporary closure. However, it also recently announced that some shows featuring national artists that were scheduled for 2020 before the pandemic hit have been rescheduled for 2021.

Halestorm has been rescheduled for April 15, 2021 and Iration’s Coastin’ Summer Tour with Tribal Seeds and more has been rescheduled for July 6, 2021. HOB stated that tickets purchased for both initial events will be honored while advising those looking to purchase other available tickets to reach out to its point of purchase.

The House of Blues website has one previously scheduled show still on the schedule, Jonny Lang (Oct. 16), according to its website.

The COVID-19 outbreak forced the House of Blues to cancel several concerts with well-known musical artists such as Blue October, Morgan Wallen, Colt Ford, 311, Yo Gotti and Incubus.

McMaster ordered that all restaurants and bars close in-house service on March 17. The governor announced May 8 that restaurants could reopen for limited in-house dining May 11.

Numerous restaurants in Horry County temporarily closed, though many reopened in a matter of days or weeks. On Monday, HOB will join the reopened list.

“Our team is still committed to keeping you safe while bringing you our Southern-inspired dishes, daily live music, drink specials, and more!” the Facebook post states, encouraging patrons to learn more about its safety measures at https://bit.ly/30A3iPS.
