Your Myrtle Beach area Fourth of July weekend forecast

The Myrtle Beach weekend forecast is looking sunny with high temperatures close to 90 degrees, bringing the area perfect weather for beachgoers and grillers for Fourth of July weekend.

Forecasters are calling for a sunny day and a mostly clear night Friday. Heading into Independence Day, the National Weather Service says the Myrtle Beach area will see a sunny day with a high around 88 degrees. The heat index could reach 95 degrees Saturday, the NWS Wilmington predicts.

There are currently no beach hazard statements, but be aware of the flag systems lifeguards use along Grand Strand beaches.

A slight chance of thunderstorms and rain Saturday night could put a damper on shooting fireworks. If you plan to shoot fireworks this weekend, make sure you’re in a place where it is legal. Most area firework shows are canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak, but others are postponed to later dates.

The NWS is calling for a low of 74 degrees Saturday night.

Chances of thunderstorms are also likely Sunday and increase going into the new week, the NWS reports.
