Horry County coroner identifies North Myrtle Beach man killed in motorcycle crash
A 64-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle collision with a deer Tuesday night, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.
Robert E. Malloy, of North Myrtle Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Water Tower Road just south of Long Bay Road, said Chris Dontell, Horry County deputy coroner.
The wreck happened just after 8 p.m., said Cpl. Sonny Collins with South Carolina Highway Patrol. The driver of a 2019 Harley-Davidson hit the deer as it was crossing the road.
The driver, who was not wearing a helmet, died after the crash, Collins said. A passenger, who was wearing a helmet, went to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, he said.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
