Horry County coroner identifies motorcyclist killed in wreck near U.S. 501

A 26-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash on Lambert Road Thursday night, officials said.

Jame Parrish was killed after his motorcycle hit a ditch, according to the Horry County Coroner Robert Edge. The office released the identity on Friday.

The wreck happened around 9:15 p.m on Lambert Road near U.S. 501, said Lance Cpl. Tyler Tidwell with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Parrish drove a Harley-Davidson motorcycle east on Lambert Road when he crossed the center line and then hit a ditch, Tidwell said. The driver was thrown from the motorcycle and died.

Tidwell said Parrish was not wearing a helmet.
