Loris man has $200K secret from his wife, but ‘she’ll probably find out’

A Loris man is now $200,000 richer after purchasing a winning lottery ticket last week, but his wife doesn’t know just yet, according to a release from the South Carolina Education Lottery.

“She’ll probably find out,” said the man, who is unnamed in the release.

After matching all five Palmetto Cash 5 numbers drawn on Jan. 25, the Loris resident will enjoy his $200,000 prize. While his earnings were initially $100,000, he had a stroke of luck when a “2” multiplier was selected and the man had spent an extra dollar for Power-Ups in Longs, the release states.

The odds of winning $200,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 1,003,884, according to the release.

“It was exciting,” he said. “I didn’t know how to act.”

Punit Disha LLC in Longs was given a $2,000 commission for selling the winning ticket, the release states.
