Weather alert: How much rain could Myrtle Beach see this week?

The Myrtle Beach area is in for a rainy week ahead, forecasters say.

After a mostly sunny day Monday, chances of showers are likely overnight. Rainfall chances are likely through Thursday night, according to a Monday forecast from the National Weather Service.

It’s possible the Grand Strand could receive up to 3 inches of rain this week, the NWS in Wilmington reports.

Sunshine is in the forecast Friday ahead of the Myrtle Beach Marathon happening Saturday. Forecasters say Saturday is expected to be sunny, with a high of 53.

Here are this week’s high and low temperatures, the NWS reports:

  • Monday: High 63, low 57
  • Tuesday: High 69, low 57
  • Wednesday: High 61, low 51
  • Thursday: High 57, low 46
  • Friday: High 61, low 38
