Rain, snow and sun: Myrtle Beach predicted to see some cold weather this weekend

Horry County is predicted to get some winter weather, but a snow covered beach might not be so likely.

The National Weather Service is predicting a cold rain across the Carolinas this evening with chances for snow mostly above the North Carolina line.

Temperatures in Horry County will reach into the low 30 degrees Thursday night going into Friday. The rain should quit early Friday morning. Any potential snow would probably fall at night.

Myrtle Beach’s odds of seeing any snow are around 30 percent, but the NWS is expecting any snow fall to be insignificant. The worse-case prediction (or best-case if you like snow) would still have less than an inch of snowfall.

Friday will be sunny with temperatures reaching into the high 40s during the day and then dropping down to 33 degrees at night. Saturday will be another cold sunny day with a high of 49 degrees during the day.

On Sunday, however, things begin to heat up. The high during the day will reach into the high 50s, followed by a high of 62 degrees on Monday.

The warmer weather could come with rain as the National Weather Service says showers are likely at the start of next week.
