Your weekend forecast: Temperatures and how much rain the Myrtle Beach area could see

Gear up for a rainy start to the weekend in the Myrtle Beach area.

Moderate to heavy rain is expected through Saturday morning, according to National Weather Service forecasters in Wilmington, North Carolina. The region could see one to two inches of rain, forecasters say.

The NWS is calling for showers and possibly a thunderstorm Friday night with wind gusts up to 17 mph, and showers before noon Saturday. As the day goes on Saturday, the rain will leave ahead of a partly sunny afternoon, the weather service reports.

Sunday is forecast to be a sunny day and evening, the weather service reports. By Monday evening, showers could return to the area, forecasters say.

  • Friday: High 59, low 53
  • Saturday: High 62, low 45
  • Sunday: High 59, low 47
