Falalalala: Your guide to holiday festivities in the Grand Strand area

Mark your calendars, holiday lovers — festive events are happening around the Grand Strand.

The area will have an abundance of parades, 5K races and spots with lights and celebrations ahead of the holidays. Some events span the month, while others are one-day occasions.

Here is a list of miscellaneous events, parades and races:

Holiday events:

  • Holiday Bazaar at The Market Common noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 7, 14 and 21

  • Santa Crawl on the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk is 5 p.m. Dec. 21

  • Lighting of the Menorah at The Market Common is 5:15 to 5:45 p.m. Dec. 22-29
  • Nights of a Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens is Thursdays through Sundays until Dec. 22
  • Conway Celebration of Lights is 6-9 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays until Dec. 24
  • The Great Christmas Light Show in North Myrtle Beach is 5:30-9:30 p.m. every night until Dec. 30

Parades:

  • North Myrtle Beach Christmas Parade from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Dec. 7 along Main Street
  • Broadway at the Beach’s A Very Broadway Christmas Parade is 11 a.m. Dec. 7
  • Murrells Inlet Christmas Parade is 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 8, beginning at Wilcox Avenue and ending at Wachesaw Road
  • Conway Christmas Parade is downtown beginning at 10 a.m. Dec. 14
  • Surfside Beach Christmas Parade is along Ocean Boulevard from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 14

Races:

  • The City of Conway Under the Lights 5K run and walk is 4 p.m. Dec. 11 beginning at the Conway Marina. Participants can dress in holiday costumes as they walk or run through downtown.
  • A Festive Four Miler, along with a kids fun run and 50-yard dash, is at The Market Common from 8 to 11 a.m. Dec. 21. For more information, visit https://blackdogrunning.com/contact/.
  • The 13th annual Race into the New Year 5K will be at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 28 at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach.
