Ryan Ralston apprehended hours after police raid in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach Police say Ryan Ralston, the man suspected in a shooting caught on video, was apprehended on Friday afternoon by Horry County Police.

The arrest came after Myrtle Beach Police and SWAT members searched a house on 5th Avenue North for Ralston, who was not inside.

According to Myrtle Beach Capt. Joey Crosby, Ralston was taken into custody without incident. He was wanted for attempted murder for a May 16 shooting at a Myrtle Beach Circle K. A bond hearing is set for 9 a.m. Saturday.

Myrtle Beach police arrived at 5th Avenue North at about 6 a.m on Friday. and had a section of the road near Kings Highway blocked off. Shortly after noon, a SWAT team arrived and officers could be heard yelling for occupants or Ralston to come out of the residence with their hands raised.

At one point, a man appeared on a porch on the second floor with his hands raised before returning inside.

SWAT team member then entered the house and a few occupants appeared to exit.

After the SWAT team left at about 2 p.m., Crosby said Ralston was not inside the teal-colored home.



On May 16, a video of a shooting was posted to Twitter by a man eating lunch across the street. In the video, a man — identified by police as Ralston — is seen walking into the Circle K store shortly before 2 p.m.

A victim is seen following Ralston out, who then fires two shots at the victim before fleeing to a nearby pickup truck.
