Myrtle Beach, Horry County add more coronavirus cases to totals
The number of coronavirus cases in the Myrtle Beach area continues to increase.
As of Monday afternoon, there are 209 cases in Horry County, according to the latest data from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.
That figure is an increase from the 203 cases that were reported on Sunday afternoon. There have been 12 deaths due to COVID-19 in the Myrtle Beach area.
Across South Carolina, there have been more than 5,600 cases and 177 deaths.
Restrictions remain in place throughout the state to help stop the spread of the virus, including the state’s “work or home” order. Public accesses to the beach remain open in some places and closed in other areas, including the city of Myrtle Beach.
