Coronavirus live updates for April 10: Myrtle Beach area hits milestone in COVID-19 data

Horry County has surpassed 100 confirmed coronavirus cases.

The Myrtle Beach area hit a grizzly milestone on Thursday when the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control released its latest COVID-19 data.

The entire state remains under a “work or home” order, where people are only supposed to leave to pick up necessary supplies, for travel to work or to care for a loved one.

Here are the latest updates on the coronavirus in the Myrtle Beach area.

Horry County has a total of 106 coronavirus cases, according to the latest data. That includes seven deaths in the Myrtle Beach area. Health officials estimate another 608 unconfirmed cases in the area, bringing the estimated total number of cases to more than 700.

Georgetown has 25 reported cases.

There are nearly 2,800 confirmed cases of coronavirus across South Carolina and 67 deaths.

Today’s takeaways:

Wash your hands & a smile

Last, but not least, here is your daily reminder to wash your hands. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Health officials also urge people to practice social distancing, stay home if you feel unwell unless you are going to seek medical attention, and avoid those who are sick.

Anyone else notice everyone in their house is starting to look the same?
