Winter is nearly over — thank goodness — which means it’s finally time to get back out in the sun, and hit the beach.

If you can’t decide where to go, or are trying to save money, Surfside Beach was just named a top affordable spring break destination by one of the top vacation rental marketplaces in the nation.

Surfside Beach received the title from HomeToGo, a marketplace for short-term vacation rentals such as condos and homes, as part of the company’s annual Beach Price Index.

Surfside Beach came in third place for its affordability after Ocean City Beach, Md., and Hatteras Beach — Outer Banks, North Carolina.

The affordable destinations are based off of what consumers can get for less than $150 a night. HomeToGo bases the cost of a single night on the cost of lodging, parking, sunscreen and a bottle of soda. Surfside Beach costs $90.72 per night, including $80 for the cost of a hotel or vacation rental.

“After a long and unseasonably cold winter, many travelers are looking to escape to sunny beach destinations to make warm memories this spring,” HomeToGo spokeswoman Caroline Burns said in a press release.
