Popeyes Louisiana Chicken coming to Myrtle Beach area
The Myrtle Beach area will get its first Popeyes Louisiana Chicken restaurant next year in the Ocean Lakes Village at the intersection of the U.S. 17 Business and S.C. 544.
The plans were submitted to Horry County on Nov. 12, and construction is set to begin in early spring, said David Schwerd, principal planner for Horry County.
County approval of some of the eatery’s development plans are still pending.
“They’ll probably get it in the next couple of weeks,” Schwerd said.
The restaurant is popular for its hot and spicy chicken, seafood po’boys, Cajun fish sandwiches and southern style side dishes.
