Restaurant in downtown Conway, SC, closes for good. What we know
A chicken joint in downtown Conway closed permanently after about a year in business.
Kluck It, a wing restaurant that began in Myrtle Beach, expanded to Conway last summer, The Sun News reported. As of July 23, 2025, Kluck It had shut down its Conway location.
Owner Melissa Cooper-Garcia did not respond to a request to comment prior to publication. It is unclear why the spot, which was located at the former Shelley’s Seafood, 1515 3rd Ave., closed.
On July 24, the restaurant appeared normal on the outside but the inside had been gutted.
Kluck It opened in Conway after Cooper-Garcia said she got many requests to open a second location.
“I hear it all the time, ‘When are you coming to Conway?’” Cooper-Garcia previously told The Sun News. “So we are coming to Conway.”
The Conway spot operated as takeout only as there was no space for seating inside. The Myrtle Beach Kluck It, 912 US 501 is still open. The restaurant offers about 20 different homemade sauces and flavors, including lemon pepper, BBQ and jerk, to put on chicken wings.
Along with wings, Kluck It also serves burgers, Philly subs and fried pickles. Cooper-Garcia said she uses a homemade spice blend for all the food. She themed the restaurant around her dog Bear, who passed away several years ago.
