Favorite South Carolina diner that served Cajun food announced it’s closing. What we know

A favorite among those in Northeast South Carolina and just beyond the state’s border in North Carolina, Big Easy Diner, in Longs, SC announced that they’ll be permanently closing.

Their head chef posted a public announcement about the closing on Wednesday morning.

“We have served so many wonderful people over the past year and some months. Vacationers, friends from North Carolina, local faces that we saw many times a week, and for some everyday!,” their Facebook announcement said. “I have made the decision to close to focus on my health and my family. The time spent at the restaurant every day has taken a lot away from them.”

The restaurant had also previously been closed on Dec. 15, according to a previous post.

Established in 2023, the diner specialized in Southern breakfast, comfort food and Cajun and Creole dishes.

Their menu featured dishes including Gumbo, Catfish sandwiches and build your own smash burgers.
