Benezra had operated Cakes By Saray, making homemade cakes, pastries and bread for events, birthdays and weddings. She opened the business in 2020.

Benezra has wanted to open her own bakery for some time, said her husband, Mike, adding that only so much can be done when filling custom orders. The bakery will provide enough space for many pastry and cake items to be sold.

The couple have been working on renovating the space since last year. It officially opened on Thursday.

Benezra has a pastry degree from Horry-Georgetown Technical College, and will offer a selection of home cakes, dine-in desserts and a gourmet coffee bar at the European bakery and patisserie.
