HGTV host seen at a Myrtle Beach brewery. Is the network filming a show?

Tidal Creek Brewhouse

A Myrtle Beach brewery hit the jackpot when a popular HGTV host stopped by during his latest visit to the Grand Strand.

David Bromstad, host of HGTV’s “My Lottery Dream Home,” was seen at Tidal Creek Brewhouse in Market Common. The brewery posted a picture of the reality television star to Facebook on Thursday morning.

Tidal Creek Brewhouse was not available for comment about Bromstad’s visit prior to publication.

Bromstad rose to fame after winning the first season of “HGTV Design Star” in 2006, which granted him the grand prize opportunity of hosting his own show on the network.

He hosted “Color Splash,” an interior design show about transforming dull rooms through vibrant uses of color, from 2007 until the show’s end in 2012. Bromstad then transitioned into hosting “My Lottery Dream Home” in 2015 with the show’s premiere, and has been the show’s host since.

Is HGTV filming in Myrtle Beach?

“My Lottery Dream Home” features Bromstad helping people who have recently acquired a significant amount of money — typically through the titular lottery wins or inheritance — find their dream homes.

The show, which has aired for more than a decade, is currently premiering its 19th season.

Bromstad and “My Lottery Dream Home” are not strangers to the Myrtle Beach area, with Bromstad having been recently seen in the Grand Strand just a few months ago.

In April, Bromstad visited Crunch Fitness at Coastal Grand Mall, where he told an employee he was in the area for work.

Myrtle Beach has also previously been the focus of “My Lottery Dream Home” episodes. The premiere episode of Season 19 saw a Rhode Island woman relocate to the Grand Strand in her dream home. A Season 14 episode, which first aired in early 2023, followed Bromstad helping a woman living in Myrtle Beach buy a local townhome after she received an inheritance.

HGTV and Bromstad’s agency did not respond to The Sun News’ request for comment prior to publication regarding the nature of Bromstad’s visit to Myrtle Beach.
