Runners compete in 20th annual Myrtle Beach Marathon

Runners gathered Saturday morning for the 20th annual Myrtle Beach Marathon, Half Marathon and Marathon Team Relay race.

Beginning just south of the intersection at Grissom Parkway and 21st Ave. North, runners prepared for the 26.2 mile marathon race. From there runners traveled through Plyler Park, Grand Dunes Blvd., and other Myrtle Beach landmarks, finally ending at TicketReturnStadium.com.

Throughout the race both runners and attendees were able to enjoy various dj’s, and the night will end with a House of Blues Post-Race Party from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Seafood fans know they’re in for a treat when the catch of the day catches their eye before they even make it to the table. This month, The Flying Fish will be celebrating their eighth anniversary in North Myrtle Beach.

First-time guests will notice right away that the restaurant also is a market, with some of that day’s haul on display, including entire fish on ice gazing woefully through the glass. This fresh food is one of the many reasons The Flying Fish is so popular, with the business promising less than 48 hours between boat and plate.
