Raising Cane’s eyes new restaurant in Myrtle Beach, SC. Here’s what we know
Chicken lovers and “Caniacs” around the Grand Strand may soon have a new fast food option, as Raising Cane’s considers plans to open its first Myrtle Beach location.
The wildly popular franchise known for its chicken fingers and signature sauce is the third-largest chicken restaurant chain in the nation, according to CNBC.
A Raising Cane’s representative told The Sun News the chain is eyeing the Myrtle Beach area, though it’s still early in the process.
“Currently, we do not have any confirmed plans to open a restaurant in Myrtle Beach, however, we are actively exploring opportunities in the area,” the representative said.
In a Thursday meeting, the Myrtle Beach Community Appearance Board will review a building permit application from Raising Cane’s for a new 4,570-square-foot restaurant engineered by Freeland & Kauffman Inc. at 960 Jason Blvd.
Raising Cane’s operates more than 900 locations in 43 states, Guam and Washington D.C. A Myrtle Beach Raising Cane’s restaurant would mark the chain’s sixth South Carolina location. Currently, the closest location is about 90 miles from Myrtle Beach in Mount Pleasant.
