One of Carolina Forest’s restaurants could soon open a brewery. With a scenic walkway appropriate for strolling between both locations, potentially with a locally concocted libation in hand.

Sneaky Beagle, a pet-friendly restaurant at 5040 Carolina Forest Blvd., announced via its Facebook that designs for its new brewery, the South Coast Beer Project, were complete. The brewery, next to Flossy Pediatric Dentistry at 5002 Carolina Forest Blvd., will be connected to Sneaky Beagle via a walking path around a lake between the two businesses next to Carolina Bays Parkway.

The Facebook post added that Horry County still needs to review the brewery design plan before construction can start. The Sun News requested a copy of the current design plan from Horry County but has yet to receive schematics of the plan.

Owners Chris Evans and Heri Heyardi could not be reached for comment before publication. Anticipation for the project has been built as more details about the location have been made public.

A June 2023 application submitted for the brewery to the Horry County Zoning Board listed the project size as about 5,500 square feet, including an indoor and outdoor seating area, taproom and menu featuring burgers and salad options. In February 2023, The Sneaky Beagle’s Facebook page posted concept art of the future brewery, which featured a walkway from the parking lot to the rest of the eatery.

South Coast Beer Project also posted plans for the brewery on its Facebook page in November 2023 of the business that could call Carolina Forest Boulevard home.
