A new restaurant, expected to cost more than $5-6 million, will open to the public and serve breakfast and lunch.

Restaurant owner Sam Lauren, the founder of Eagles Beachwear and owner of the SOHO brand of steak & seafood restaurants, said the eatery is part of the Toasty brand, which also has a brunch eatery in Myrtle Beach.

Lauren added that the new eatery will serve about 300 people and feature a bakery. The new Toasty will also serve tapas, small plates of food originating in Spain, which are often served with a glass of wine or beer.

The new eatery is across the street from Fiesta Mexicana at 410 70th Ave North. Lauren said the new Toasty, located next to a small body of water, will feature two decks connected by a bridge with a view of the water. Lauren said the new establishment should cost about $5-6 million.

Lauren added that the new location will probably open within a couple of months, but he did not give a specific date. The new restaurant isn’t Lauren’s only sizable venture along the Grand Strand, which is under construction.

Lauren also owns a new strip mall under construction in Carolina Forest, which is expected to cost between $7-8 million to finish. The strip mall, called Soho Town Center, will feature a Soho Steak & Seafood restaurant as the main anchor business, featuring outdoor dining on the roof. Lauren said the project, which is still under construction, is still seeking tenants but added the location will feature a pizzeria.
