Carolina Forest is getting a new shopping center that will cost millions to complete.

The Soho Town Center project will open sometime during mid-summer 2024 and cost around $7-8 million, according to the owner of the center and the Soho Steak & Seafood restaurant chain, Samuel Lauren.

Carolina Forest’s growth made building the center an attractive business venture, Lauren said.

“We have many customers that come from Carolina Forest to our (restaurants),” he added. “So, we made it more convenient now with all the traffic.”

Soho Town Center will have 10 stores, the centerpiece being a new Soho Steak & Seafood restaurant with outdoor seating on the top floor, Lauren said.

Soho Town Center is located on McLeod Health Boulevard.

The location will also have a burger restaurant, Lauren added, and Soho Shopping Center is in talks to add a pizza place and other fast food restaurants, too.

Details aren’t finalized yet, and Soho Town Center is still looking to add more parking, he said.

Lauren’s company Soho Town Center, LLC, purchased the property where the new center will sit in 2022 for $900,000. Lauren is also the founder of Eagles Beachwear, which started in 1981 and has more than 20 locations within the Myrtle Beach area.

The expansion of Soho doesn’t stop in Carolina Forest. Lauren said the company wants to add another Myrtle Beach location but did not say where it would be or when it would open.
