THE LOWDOWN

In between Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach, right around Restaurant Row, a new place has opened up. Tequila Joe’s Bar and Grill has found a home in what was formerly Secrets Cabaret, and the exotic hotspot has been transformed into a party palace.

There is room galore with plenty of tables to dine, and TVs mounted all around the joint. There’s a room in the back devoted to billiards with two tables and all the accoutrements. A lounge area is centered in between it all with couches, perfect for chilling, socializing and sipping a drink.

Tequila Joe’s has only been open for a couple of months so the place is still a work in progress, but already the jukebox is pumping. Karaoke has already been established as a Wednesday night rock-fest, and live bands are scheduled throughout the week.

Happy hour runs from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Domestic long-necks are $2. House liquors go for $3. Wings are .35 cents apiece. A buck is also chipped off the price of all the burgers. Since they are new, specials are still being tweaked. The menu is small but complete and even includes pizza.

TIPS

Tequila Joe’s seems to be utilizing its space by making a hip party spot near Restaurant Row. It’s in the early stages, but if you live close by, it could be worth it to watch the place’s evolution while eating some wings and slurping on a margarita.
