THE LOWDOWN

As you walk into Tee Box Tavern, it is clear golf isn’t the only theme at play here. All sports are welcome, and the good-natured battle of Clemson versus Gamecock nations rage on.

It’s located in a strip mall, but inside, it’s a deceptively wide-open tavern with three pool tables, a jukebox pumping out jams and a rolling popcorn machine with free popcorn for when the party ramps up.

It’s a new bar on the block, and there’s no better way to say hello than a great happy hour and specials. Happy hour runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with $2 off selected appetizers. It’s an easy dollar for all drafts and $1.50 for canned beer. Fifty cents come off all well liquors and wines. Light up a Fireball for $3, and Heinekens go for $3.

On Fridays, there’s a prime rib special for $16 until it’s gone. All day, every day, you can buckets of Bud Light for $10 (five in each).

Almost every night, Tee Box has some kind of fun happening. Pool leagues go down on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. You guessed it – team trivia ensue Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. You have bingo on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays bring in live entertainment, and Saturdays are reserved for karaoke.

TIPS

Rumor has it, the prime rib special is the bomb, but if you can’t make it in time to get some choice beef, dip in out of the traffic during happy hour, get an appetizer and a draft, then stay for one of the games at 7 p.m. and order a bucket of cold ones.
