Calling all tips. Police need your help to solve double homicide.

Horry County police say they have exhausted all leads and need the public’s help in solving a double homicide that took the lives of two Myrtle Beach men July 11.

Rafael Aguilar, 31, and Carmelo Marmolejo-Calixto, 33, died of gunshot wounds to vital organs, Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler said.

Police say the double homicide happened around 4:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Socastee Plaza in front of El Ya Merito on S.C. 707. Aguilar and Marmolejo-Calixto were found dead around 7 a.m. Monday, according to Lt. Raul Denis with the Horry County Police Department.

Officers called on the public’s help in a Facebook post Tuesday morning.

Police are asking anyone with information or anyone who may have been in that area or seen something - no matter how small or insignificant the information may seem - to call the HCPD tip line at 843-915-8477. Tips can be anonymous.

The shootings happened just a little over a month after a 65-year-old woman was found dead in the same area.

Wanda Wohnig was found stabbed to death June 3 in the parking lot in front of the laundromat in the same plaza. Jon Paul Joseph Marston, of Myrtle Beach, was arrested in that case and faces charges of murder, armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
