Guns taken from two cars in overnight burglaries
At least two guns, a Glock 19 and a Glock 21, are missing after a string of car break-ins last night.
Three cars were broken into in the parking lot of Broadway at the Beach at 1318 Celebrity Cir., according to a Myrtle Beach Police report. Three people reported going into a comedy club there around 11 p.m., and returning to their cars at 2 a.m. One person noticed that the center console and glove box of her car had been tampered with and called police, the report said.
The two others reported the guns missing from their glove boxes. They told police that they had left their guns in the cars knowing it was illegal to bring them inside.
Myrtle Beach Police responded to a call around 2 a.m. According to the police report, security footage from Broadway at the Beach showed two people jiggling door handles of cars in the parking lot. One of them briefly entered the car of the woman who said nothing was taken.
The car appears to have been unlocked.
