Family member fires warning shot to stop domestic violence assault
A Carolina Forest man is awaiting domestic violence charges at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center after police say he assaulted a woman at a home on Southgate Parkway.
Police were called to the scene for a domestic violence disturbance around 1:40 p.m.
“A couple got into an argument and the man allegedly assaulted the woman,” according to Lt. Raul Denis of the Horry County Police Department. “Another family member fired a warning shot to stop the assault.”
Denis says the man was found and apprehended a short distance from the home and was transported to the detention center to await charges.
