One teen was killed Sunday night in an Aynor-area shooting, and another teen has been charged in connection with the incident.

Cole Austion Dunn, 17, of Galivants Ferry, is charged with involuntary manslaughter, according to J. Reuben Long Detention Center records.

Horry County police were called about 6 p.m. Sunday to a home off Garner Road in the Aynor area in reference to a shooting, according to a police report.

The 16-year-old male victim was lying by a white Chevrolet truck when police arrived, and authorities said the victim had suffered a gunshot wound.

A 51-year-old complainant told police she heard a gunshot ring out when she was near the home, so she called 911 and waited for help.

Police arrested Dunn in connection with the 16-year-old’s death and took him to the J. Reuben Long Detention Center, where he was released Tuesday on $5,000 bond, records show.

The shooting was accidental, according to Lt. Raul Denis with Horry County police, who declined to comment further on the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
