There’s no sign of a swimmer that went missing last Thursday, according to Myrtle Beach Police Capt. David Knipes.

“There’s no active searches going on right now, we just have patrol officers monitoring the area,” Knipes said.

He added that this is a typical response four days after a swimmer’s disappearance.

On Thursday, a swimmer described as a 14-year-old black male was reported missing around 73rd Avenue North in Myrtle Beach. Emergency responders received a call for two distressed swimmers and were able to recover one — the missing swimmer’s younger brother, Lt. Joey Crosby said at the time. The brothers are from Columbus, Ga.

The Coast Guard participated in the search last week, as nearby swimmers attempted to find the second boy by forming human chains.
