Conway-area warehouse building destroyed by blaze
A large, abandoned warehouse was completely destroyed in a big blaze Saturday morning in the Conway area.
A nearby resident saw the building burning and called 911 about 7 a.m., and Horry County Fire Rescue and Conway Fire Department crews headed to the scene at 2776 Cultra Road, where a fire had swept through the building, engulfing it in flames.

The wood-frame structure storing furniture was abandoned when it caught fire, and no firefighters were injured as they fought the flames, according to Mark Nugent, spokesman with HCFR, who estimated the building was about 6,000 square feet.
He said nearby woods were also touched by the blaze, but no buildings or homes close by were damaged by the fire.
Crews remained on scene through the morning and stretching into the afternoon doing overhaul, Nugent said, who stated a portion of Cultra Road was closed for a chunk of the day Saturday.
Nugent said the cause remained under investigation Saturday afternoon.
