One in custody after fire truck involved accident

Horry County police responded to a crash between a motor vehicle and fire truck along Hwy 544 and Founders Drive late Tuesday afternoon, according to the Horry County police department.

“A female is in custody for hitting a Horry County fire truck,” said Sgt. Darren Alston with Conway police.

The woman has not yet been transported, according to Alston.

Coastal Carolina University police are assisting with traffic, but Horry County police are recommending that drivers avoid Hwy 544 if possible.

The investigation is still ongoing.
