▪ July 11 | Marine Corps League Carolina Border Detachment 14th annual Golf Outing, Aberdeen Country Club, 8 a.m. shotgun start, format with foursomes. ▪ July 18 | The Shallotte Lions Club will hold its 24th annual golf tournament at the Jones course at Sea Trail Plantation in Sunset Beach on July 18. Shotgun start set for 8:30 a.m. for this captain’s choice event (two flights), everyone is welcome. Entry fee is $70 per player and includes green and cart fees, a buffet luncheon and over $1400 in prizes given away. Proceeds support the vision and hearing impaired in the local area that cannot otherwise receive care and for other Lions supported local services. ▪ July 18 | Ramon Sessions fourth annual Benefit Tournament, River Oaks Golf Plantation, 8 a.m. registration, 9 a.m. shotgun start. Hosted by Sessions, a Myrtle Beach native and member of the NBA’s Washington Wizards. Four-person team captain’s choice format with men, women and mixed divisions. Entry fee of $50 per player includes breakfast, lunch, beverages, gift bag, door prizes, prizes to the top three teams and skills contest winners. ▪ July 25 | Dick Elliott Memorial Masonic Golf Tournament, Eagle Nest Golf Club, Little River, 8 AM shotgun start, captain's choice, men and ladies or foursomes welcome, no handicap required, flighted after play. Entry fee of $50 per player includes continental breakfast at 7:30 AM, on course refreshments, awards luncheon after round, door prizes, prizes for first 3 places each flight. Hole sponsorships of $100 are available. All proceeds benefit and support community programs for the poor and destitute. Entry fee of $1,000 per team includes sponsorship recognition, continental breakfast, box lunch, golf shirt, hat, Cudone memorial coin, and post-round party with cocktails, dinner and awards. ▪ Sept. 5 | The Carolina Italian American Org's (CIAO) 17th annual golf tournament at Eagle Nest Golf Club will be on Sept. 5th. This year the charity will again support wounded military personnel, their families and veterans who are or have served our country. Price is $65.00 per golfer which includes continental breakfast, hot dog on the turn, and food after golf. Beverages will be served. Lots of prizes. ▪ Mondays | The Grand Strand Seniors Men’s Golf Association plays a tournament every Monday at a different golf course on the Grand Strand. Any amateur male golfer over 50 is eligible. Snowbirds welcomed! Visit www.gssmga.org.
▪ Monthly | The Myrtle Beach Chapter of the American Singles Golf Association (ASGA) regularly meets the second Thursday each month for nine holes of golf at River Oaks Golf Club followed by a social hour and dinner starting at 6 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel in Fantasy Harbor. A general monthly meeting starts at 7 p.m. The cost for dinner is $12, which includes tax, tip and soft drink.
