GOLF
May 25 | Military Officers Association of America Grand Strand Chapter Tournament, Heathland at Legends Resort, noon registration and lunch, 2 p.m. shotgun start, four-person team captain’s choice format. Entry fee of $80 per player and $300 per team ($5 discount for veterans) includes lunch, refreshments, awards to the top three teams, skills contests, 1 p.m. putting contest for additional cost. Registration deadline is May 11. Sponsorships available. Tournament funds college scholarships for Junior ROTC high school seniors, veterans outreach programs and Wounded Warrior visits to Myrtle Beach. May 30 | Lady Sharks Captain’s Choice Tournament, Wachesaw East, 1:30 shotgun start. Entry fee of $60 per player before May 23 and $65 after includes lunch, prizes, skills contests and a raffle. June 13 | Sixth annual Tee-Off for Veterans Outing, Legends Resort, 8 a.m. shotgun, four-person team captains choice format. Entry fee of $100 per player or $350 per team includes buffet breakfast, lunch, raffle drawing, awards, prizes for skills contest winners. Registration deadline is June 1. The event raises funds for Grand Strand Veterans in need. Mondays | The Grand Strand Seniors Men’s Golf Association plays a tournament every Monday at a different golf course on the Grand Strand. Any amateur male golfer over 50 is eligible. Snowbirds welcomed! Visit www.gssmga.org.
Monthly | The Myrtle Beach Chapter of the American Singles Golf Association (ASGA) regularly meets the second Thursday each month for nine holes of golf at River Oaks Golf Club followed by a social hour and dinner starting at 6 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel in Fantasy Harbor. A general monthly meeting starts at 7 p.m. The cost for dinner is $12, which includes tax, tip and soft drink.
