| 18th annual Grand Strand Optimist Club fundraising tournament, Burning Ridge Golf Club, 7:30 a.m. shotgun start, four-person team scramble format with no handicaps. Entry fee of $85 includes McDonald’s and Sonic breakfast, lunch, on-course beverages, $500 value in prizes to three winning teams, skills contest prizes. Nov. 29 | The 7th Annual Rolling Thunder SC3 “Tee Off For Veterans” Golf Tournament will be held at Black Bear Golf Course at 2650 Highway 9 West, North Myrtle Beach, SC on Saturday, Nov. 29. Format will be captain’s choice with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. with 50/50 door prizes. The cost is $60 per person/$240 per team of four people, proceeds will help RTSC3 Help the Veterans. | The annual Shiver for the Shelter Tournament presented by Slimbo Productions, Farmstead Golf Links, four-person team captain’s choice format, benefits animals housed at the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach. Due to the extraordinary needs of the shelter, entry fee is $25 plus 100 pounds of cat litter, puppy food or kitten food per player. The entry fee includes range balls, lunch from Bistro 90, on-course refreshments and tickets for a prize drawing. Entry deadline is Dec. 3. The 2013 event provided 7.5 tons of food and litter. | The Myrtle Beach Chapter of the American Singles Golf Association (ASGA) regularly meets the second Thursday each month for nine holes of golf at River Oaks Golf Club followed by a social hour and dinner starting at 6 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel in Fantasy Harbor. | The Fidelis Foundation second annual tennis mixer called “Serving Aces for Smiling Faces,” Prestwick Country Club. Cost of $35 includes a T-shirt, Chick-fil-A breakfast beginning at 9 a.m. and Subway lunch at 1 p.m. The event includes a clinic by coach Medhi for Fidelis participants, a mixer beginning at 11 a.m. and a post-lunch exhibition match between Prestwick professionals.
