Matt Hazel recorded his first career NFL reception last week. This week, he finds himself unemployed.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound receiver was waived by the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday as the team signed linebacker Darnell Sankey off the practice squad.

Hazel played three snaps and recorded his first career catch for one yard in Indianapolis’ season-opening 46-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

Hazel was claimed off waivers by the Indianapolis Colts Sept. 3, a day after being cut by the Washington Redskins.

Hazel was drafted in the sixth round by the Miami Dolphins in 2014. He played his first two seasons there but saw action in only five games before being waived at the start of the 2016 season. He joined the Buffalo Bills practice squad but was released and joined the Redskins practice squad.
