Turning point

The Pelicans trailed Salem 4-1 after the first five innings. However, Myrtle Beach’s pitching shut out the Red Sox the rest of the way and the Pelicans’ offense tallied six runs over the last four frames to pick up the team’s 10th straight win, a season-high figure.

Shortstop Bryant Flete, who delivered two huge hits to help Myrtle Beach win. In the four-run sixth frame, Flete lined a two-run single and then drove in Ian Rice on a double in the eighth for the team’s final run.
