Coastal Carolina roundup (Sept. 28)
The Coastal Carolina football team remained No. 1 in the FCS Coaches poll and No. 2 in the STATS FCS top 25.
Volleyball
Coastal Carolina’s Eszter Nagy was named Big South Volleyball Player of the Week.
Nagy recorded 26 kills 11 blocks and 36.5 points during the Chants’ wins over South Carolina Winthrop and Presbyterian last week.
Men’s soccer
Coastal Carolina’s Sergio Camargo was named Big South Soccer Attacking Player of the Week.
Camargo netted two goals and added an assist in two victories – over UAB and Gardner-Webb – last week.
In other news, the squad moved up to its highest-ever ranking (No. 4) in the College Soccer News Poll.
Women’s golf
The Coastal Carolina women’s golf team shot 8-over 292-292–584 and was tied for sixth after the first two rounds of The Johnie Imes Invitational.
The Chants were 34 shots behind leader Missouri.
Coastal’s Malene Krolboll Hansen (71-74) and Marie Lunackova (74-71) were tied for 20th (145), Lena Schaeffner (74-72) was in 28th (146), Bailey Cocca (74-75) was in 41st (149) and Barbora Bakova (73-83) was in 75th (156).
