Myrtle Beach Pelicans fall short against Winston-Salem Dash

Nolan Early drove in the game-winning run on single in the eighth inning to lead the Winston-Salem Dash to a 2-1 win over the Myrtle Beach Pelicans on Monday night.

Trey Michalczewski singled with one out and Jeremy Dowdy singled with two out before Early brought home the game-winner.

Chesny Young doubled in a run in the fifth to give Myrtle Beach a 1-0 lead.

Winston-Salem tied it up in the sixth on a Dowdy single.

Pelicans starter Daury Torrez had to settle for a no-decision after allowing one run on seven hits while striking out six in six innings. James Pugliese took the loss in relief.

Winston-Salem’s Andre Wheeler tossed two hitless inning to pick up the win in relief.
