Underwood Jr. lit up as Myrtle Beach Pelicans fall to Carolina Mudcats
Duane Underwood Jr.’s second half didn’t begin how he would’ve liked.
The Myrtle Beach starter, fresh off an apperance in the Carolina vs. California League All-Star game, was lit up for six runs on four hits in one inning Friday night as the Pelicans lost 9-2 to the Carolina Mudcats.
All six runs were earned, and the Mudcats led 9-0 after two innings.
Keith Curcio, Jacob Schrader, who homered in the first, and Joey Meneses each drove in two runs for Carolina.
Victory Caratini had a solo home run and Carlos Penalver provided the other RBI for the Pelicans.
