Myrtle Beach Pelicans top Carolina Mudcats in 12
Jeimer Candelario doubled in Mark Zagunis in the 12th inning Saturday night to lead the Myrtle Beach Pelicans to a 3-2 win over the Carolina Mudcats.
Zagunis led off the inning with a triple.
Leading 2-1 in the bottom of the ninth, the Pelicans were unable to close it out in regulation. Zach Cates came on in relief and surrendered a solo home run to the first batter he faced, Jose Briceno.
James Pugliese (3-0) allowed two hits and struck out one in two scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win.
