Third baseman Jesse Hodges’ double with two out in the fifth broke the seal of a scoreless game at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark, bringing in Tyler Alamo to give the Pelicans a 1-0 lead. After first baseman Matt Rose was issued a free pass, Connor Myers allowed Myrtle Beach to add to their lead. The Pelicans would add two more in the sixth, one of them courtesy of a home run by right fielder Eddy Martinez.
