Carvers Bay drops close game to Allendale-Fairfax in playoff opener
The Carvers Bay football team opened up their Class A, Division I playoff game against Allendale-Fairfax with a bang when Marquiese Goss returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown.
Unfortunately for the Bears, that wound up being all the scoring they would do in a 14-8 overtime loss Friday.
Calvin Miller added a two-point conversion to put Carvers Bay up 8-0 early.
After the game ended regulation with an 8-all tie, Allendale-Fairfax scored on a run from five yards out to take the lead and held off the Bears.
