Myrtle Beach lone area team to show up in final media poll

The final state football polls for the 2015 season include Myrtle Beach.

And when it comes to local teams, only Myrtle Beach.

The Seahawks, who finished the regular season ranked No. 8 in Class AAA, won the Region VII-AAA title and will be at home when the playoffs open next week. However, Mickey Wilson’s team was the lone Grand Strand squad in the top 10.

Conway, which was No. 9 in Class AAAA prior to last week’s lopsided loss at Sumter, dropped out of the rankings, although the Tigers are still among those team receiving votes.
