North Myrtle Beach (4-2, 1-0) at Georgetown (5-1, 1-0)

When: 6 p.m.

The game: Even with Myrtle Beach defeating Lake City, it’s hard to say that the winner of this game won’t have the immediate leg up in the Region VII-AAA race. Each squad took care of business in the first week of region play, and these two are expected to be among squads competing for the title. So moving to 2-0 would be crucial. But what we also know is that this one won’t be easy. The two squads have combined for seven single-digit games so far this season, with Georgetown’s last three all decided by a touchdown or less. Another similar outcome would add to the euphoria the winning team feels after this one, especially given the canceled practices, postponed games and general feeling of unknown when it came to high school football over the course of the last 10 days.

Last year: North Myrtle Beach 20, Georgetown 19

Favorite: Georgetown

Waccamaw (2-3, 0-0) at Loris (2-3, 0-0)

When: 6:30 p.m.

The game: Neither of these teams have quite shown the offensive potential they had a year ago. And considering neither team scored a touchdown on that side of the ball in the last meeting, Tuesday’s could be shaping up for another defensive slugfest. The focal point for each squad will be similar to last year’s. Loris will be charged with slowing down Warriors tailback Kevin Gasque (264 yards in three games). Meanwhile, Waccamaw will have to find a way to contain Lions quarterback Ta’Jay Williams, who has already combined for nearly 800 yards and eight touchdowns.

On the air: WLSC-AM, 1240

Last year: Loris 13, Waccamaw 0

Favorite: Loris

Green Sea Floyds (2-4, 0-1) at Carvers Bay (2-4, 1-0)

When: 6:30 p.m.

The game: Much like a week ago when Carvers Bay was preparing for a region game against Creek Bridge – a team it had never lost to in its 16-year history – the Bear have another team they’ve predominantly dominated lining up against it this week. Green Sea Floyds is 0-8 all time against Nate Thompson’s teams, with the nearly annual matchups since 2006 (they were in different regions in 2012 and 2013 and played twice in 2007) being decided by a minimum of 19 points. The Trojans have an offense that controls tempo more, but like in the past, Carvers Bay still has the type of athletes to maximize any potential miscues along the way.

Last year: Carvers Bay 28, Green Sea Floyds 0

Favorite: Carvers Bay
