Myrtle Beach’s four-point loss to Carolina Forest cost it four spots in the rankings.

The Seahawks, following that 24-20 defeat, fell to No. 8 in Class AAA in the latest S.C. Prep Media Football Poll, released Tuesday. It was the team’s lowest placement since it was unranked at the end of the 2013 regular season.

Mickey Wilson’s team will have an instant opportunity to improve, however. Myrtle Beach will head to Conway on Friday. The Tigers, meanwhile, are making an impression of their own, as they are receiving votes again in Class AAAA after a blowout win over Marlboro County last week.

It was the third week this season Conway has received votes. The only other area team appearing this week was Loris, which was also receiving votes in Class AA.
