Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach drops opener against Dillon Christian
Sophomore Christian Gaskins scored on a 45-yard touchdown run Friday night, but that was all the Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach football team could muster in a 48-7 loss to Dillon Christian.
“Dillon Christian is a good [team], just like the other Dillon,” first-year coach Matt Adams said. “They play good football there and they have good knowledge and some big boys.
“We’ve just got to tackle better. The tackling just wasn’t there. We need to fix the little mistakes. We’re a young team consisting of mainly freshmen and sophomores. Growing physically will get [help a lot].”
The Saints are in their second season of 11-man football.
Bennett Pearson provided the extra point after Gaskins’ touchdown.
