Charlotte Christian (0-1) at Myrtle Beach (0-0)

When: 8 p.m.

The game: Myrtle Beach coach Mickey Wilson happened to be watching film when the question about Charlotte Christian and the fact that it isn’t your average independent school. “They are really big,” Wilson said before referring to the Knights’ season opener last week. “They’re playing Charlotte Catholic and there’s a lot of Division I football players on both sides.” Charlotte Christian tailback Elijah Deveaux is one of those Wilson was referring to. Deveaux is planning to attend Duke. However, Myrtle Beach has a bit of future NCAA Division I talent, as well, including quarterback Drayton Arnold and running back Brandon Sinclair. Both have verbally committed to Old Dominion. And like Deveaux, they have a state championship on their resume.
